  • Comfort: This shoe is a comfortable low cut basketball shoe. It has Phylon™ cushioning which is a lightweight Nike insole. Compared to the Jordan Melo M11, the KD 8 were great to wear right out of the box. I didn’t experience any discomfort on my Achilles tendon after wearing them for long hours. This could be because of the different materials included on the shoe and/or because it is a low cut shoe. The KD 8 also include Flywire cables for a lock-down feel, Flyweave construction for a lightweight shoe, and rubber for good traction on wood floor.

  • Fit: The fit of the KD 8 was perfect. I went with my usual 9.5 shoe size and they fit great. I didn’t feel like the shoe was too tight or uncomfortable on my toes and heel. The front part of the shoe is wide when you look at it from above which might mean that it is suitable for wide footed people. The shoe also has a good amount of rubber and other materials on the heel part that makes it look round just like the front part.

  • Durability: Up to now I have owned the shoe for 3 weeks. Some have commented to me that the shoes might not last a very long time due to the Flywire cables but at the moment I’m going to just have to keep you all updated on whether or not this is true. So far the shoes haven’t given me any problems and I hope they don’t fall apart in the future from just regular use.

  • Last thoughts: On a scale from 1-10 I would rate the shoe a 10. The shoe has many characteristics that make it a 10 in my opinion. It was my first time trying a Nike Flywire basketball shoe. I really like how the Flywire keeps my forefoot locked down securely. This is important especially for players that need to make a quick cut or jump to the hoop. The Nike Flyweave and Phylon are great additions to the shoe that make it better by making the shoe very lightweight. The KD 8 also gave me security around my ankle without restricting it too much like a high top shoe would. As a Nike shoe, the the KD 8 had a good bouncy takeoff while walking or jumping. If you are looking for a lightweight, low cut shoe with a lock-down feel then the KD 8 basketball shoes are definitely a good pick.
